Combining sentiments

Hi! Clare here today with a couple of cards to share, focusing on combining sentiments from different stamp sets. I used sentiments from the awesome new Circle It stamp set and Vintage Clocks, the flower stamps are from Happiness Is.

Combining sentiments from different stamp sets allows you to personalize your card a little more and you can create something new using your existing stamp sets. For the flowers which are from Happiness Is I stamped them onto some patterned paper and added some shading using Distress Markers.

I love the sentiments from the new Circle It stamp set, they go well with pretty much everything. When combining stamp sets you can try different colors for each sentiment for a different look.

The sentiments from the new Circle It stamp set really lend themselves well to the fussy cutting technique, pop them on some foam pads and you can really make a feature out of them.

I also did a little fussy cutting using the clocks from Vintage Clocks. I hope you have fun looking for interesting sentiment combinations in your stamp collection! Here are the stamp sets I used on my cards. Thanks for dropping by today! : )

Other supplies used:

Patterned Papers: Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Paper Pad (American Crafts)
Inks: VersaMagic Pink Petunia, Thatched Straw, VersaFine Onyx Black
Distress Markers: Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Bundled Sage

Great cards Clare - I'm inspired to try this more!! Esepcially the cute effect with your fussycut sentiment popped up on faom pads. Thanks, Rx
PS. I always mean to say - thanks too for your apology re: comment status. I know it can be hard for bloggers to keep open the function for named and anonymous users. I don't have a registered identity anymore - my old blog is no longer active and its frustrating to have to use it in these cases (rather than my current blog which is hosted independantly: www.justsomestuffimade.com). But I appreciate your apology and will keep commenting, thanks!!! x

Both cards are wonderful and show well how you can mix stamping sentiments. I like the bit of lace and twine with the pretty flower. Card 2 is nice and colorful. I like the clocks with that sentiment...a little humor with an apology :D Great job!
